A History Steeped in Flavor.
Raised in a Korean family where food was central to every celebration, Michael Pyon grew up steeped in flavor. As a kid, he peeled shrimp for potlucks, ordered for the table before he could drive, and earned a reputation as the one with the best palate.
At 21, he opened a Korean-inspired restaurant and got a crash course in flavor, hustle, and what it really takes to feed people well. Years later, back in his kitchen, he had a bold idea: what if the deep, caramelized punch of Korean BBQ could be delivered in seconds, not hours?
Soon, RubRub was born—a spice rub layered with heat, umami, and just the right hit of sweetness. He tested it on everything—chicken, beef, shrimp, veggies—and everywhere, from backyard BBQs to weeknight meals and full-blown dinner parties. Every time, people hovered before plates hit the table, stealing bites straight from the pan, burning their fingers, licking them anyway.
